Okay, so in essence, I ditched the whole indy vibe I tried to hold up for the convention, but in all honesty, I really just wanted to make the money I spent on the table back, and gee golly gosh did I!
The whole weekend was just a great lesson in con-tabling for me. And while I’ve been to SPX, I didn’t really know how to pull off a really good eye-catching table until now! Anime con-tablers has a real knack at eye-catching, they know how to put what people want to see most out there so it can real people in, and the answer, is fanart!
That’s right, me doodling Flapjack is why I sold nearly any comics, with out those sketches, I would have had a few dubious stares like the day before, and next to no sales, or any face time at all! So, I’ve decided to set up an entirely new mantra to con-tabling, with the art of the eye-catch.
Of course, this mostly includes anime and comic conventions, when I go to SPX this fall, I’m going to need to exercise a little more subtlety, since I’d like to be taken a little seriously, but I still want to actually make some sort of money. So I’ll probably make a few prints to sell, or whatever. All I know is that Otakon made me rethink how I table.
So anyway, without further a-do, here’s what I call the commission gallery, sorry for the bad quality, but I just took quicky pictures before I gave them to the commissionee:

My first Commission! I actually sniped it from my table-mate Cali when she admitted she didnt know bout Lupin.

Drawn for Esca and her boyfriend, they commissioned me to draw alot of their characters! I was really flattered!
Well, that’s all for today, tune in tommorrow for the Post-Con depression, yay!
