Alright, I’ve been tweeting about this all weekend, so I figured I’d make a comic about the exploits of the Mario Marathon, which is raising money for Child’s Play, which helps Childrens Hospitals, by giving videogames, toys and books to sick children. I think it’s a great cause, and it’s been a blast watching these guys deprive themselves of sleep just to finish all of the Mario games 100%.
At the time of this posting, The Mario Marathon is still going, and they’ve raised about 25,000 dollars, and they’re just about finished, I believe we have until midnight tonight to continue donating!
All this talk about a certain plumber’s really gotten me to wanting to play some games… b-but… I must… resist!!

“Why is this interesting?” XD
I think that last panel could basically sum up my relationship with the internet in general.
XDD Ditto what Shazzbaa said! Plus, I think that’s a great thing those guys are doing! I wish I had known about that while I was sick this weekend – I would have watched the whole thing!!
I wonder if anyone does this with Zelda? That would take like, a long time…O_o
I watched for a bit
right during Mario 2
but then I got bored
I remember back around december I saw something similar with desert bus.
“Why is this interesting?” indeed.
@ Josh
I think somebody did do it with Zelda and failed.
Actually some guys over at the Something Awful Let’s Play subforum did a marathon of the non 3D Zelda games. They did Zelda 1, first and second quest, Zelda 2, Link’s Awakening, Oracle of Season and Ages, and Link to the Past, only two of the guys that started the marathon finish with both of them playing through all “7″ games. Took them about 60 hours with brakes. And they only didn’t 100% the Gameboy games.
