So we went to this charming little cuban restaraunt called Rancho Allegre for my good bud Matt Hieggelke’s birthday, and at one point we discussed my webcomic briefly. Other than that we sorta talked about how tourists piss us off and how are jobs are lame.
But really I kinda wanted to put this strip out there to let you guys know what’s up. As soon as I’ve drawn 365 Adventures, I’ll be starting a month long experiment, starting my new webcomic right here, called “Brightleaf”. I’ve actually made a blogpost with the original comic, so take a look at that, and that’s sort of what the new comic will be. Of course, I’m going to be taking the story in a little different direction.
After said month, and depending on how much feedback I recieve, I’ll give brightleaf his own site, and continue updating The Daily Odyssey again, but probably not everyday, probably down to 2-3 times a week.
Of course, like Matt here, everyone seems to want to see me start Brightleaf, so I hope you can all be patient! Just 33 Adventures to go!

Sounds good to me. I love the Daily Odyssey but I can understand why it’s more important for you to push yourself in a more serious direction.
That said, I think the DO did wonders for you. Going back to the first few strips, your color suddenly makes all the difference. Now black and white journal comics look incredibly bland to me, and I view you as a King of Color.
I’m looking forward to Brightleaf. Will the whole comic be sans dialogue?
are you doing both
or is there a sacrifice
for the new comic?
Perhaps you should start drawing your new comic and build up a large buffer before posting it? Buffers are good to have. Either way, I’ll be looking forward to it.
