I was actually pretty productive for somebody who woke up at noon! I got my daily done, I got Kevin’s Guest Comic done, and I learned how to record and edit a podcast!
There’s was a rough patch with setting up the mics and mixer, but overall, I think that’s more of Wheeler’s realm. I think he’s played around with the hardware and software more than me (which would be more than nothing,) so I definetly appreciate having him around to help out! Kevin also showed me how to use LogicPro 8 to edit the podcast, which will keep me very, very busy saturday night and all of sunday, I’m sure. And kudos to Dave Wheeler for being my partner in all of this, it’s going to be a daunting task for the both of us!
Which reminds me! If you’re in the Savannah area this saturday, the 28th, come down to the Savannah College of Art & Design Student Center down on MLK Blvd, we’ll be at the SCAD Sequential Art Zine Fair, where students and comic enthusiasts alike try to peddle their comic wares. I’ll attempt to have my table situated right next to where SEQALAB will be recording, and interviewing people artists and others attending the fair. Check it out, it’ll be really cool!
But all that being said, I’m so excited, I feel like I’m getting a step up in the comics community here in Savannah, like I might actually have clout! If you’re out there Kevin, I feel it’s a real honor that you’re letting me share the helm of SEQALAB and trust me to edit an entire episode. You’re a real friend!
Hooray! For Your Health!

but there is little to no work in your field there i’d say come back to NY. you’d be saving tons of money, able to look for a job in your field in one of if not the biggest hub on the east coast and its not like your gonna be stuck here forever your job would probably send you out to the West Coast eventually. a growing community is good but a fully developed one is probably better.
you know all the options and your gonna do what you want anyway but if everyone down there is giving you reasons for staying at least one of us up here should give a reason for leaving.
Great community or not, I’m getting the Hell out of there ASAP.
I’ll visit… Maybe.
You’re from NY, Brett? Heck, man, I wouldn’t mind being in your shoes. I love Savannah, but NYC is really where all the art stuff is happening. Being within driving distance of it would be a huge boon to anybody looking to get started in an art related field.
(I’m not sure what your specific plans are, though, so like, I’m not sure exactly how minicomics fits into that…)
